Malteser Porridge In Minutes

Serves 4


200g buckwheat flakes*

500ml rice milk*

500ml water

1tbsp cocoa powder

1bsp agave syrup*

1tbsp malt extract*


  1. Place a pot on medium heat, add buckwheat flakes and water, cook for around 3 minutes.

  2. Add rice milk and cocoa powder, and cook for a further 3minutes.

  3. Stir in malt extract and agave syrup, leave on the heat for 1 more minute.

  4. Serve.


*buckwheat flakes can be substituted for oats

*rice milk can be substituted for any other dairy free milk (I would recommend oat milk, but any works well), or water although this will give

the porridge a less creamy taste

*agave syrup can be substituted for any other syrup or sugar, or omitted completely

*malt extract can be substituted for maca powder, or omitted to create chocolate porridge
